Terms of Service

February 15, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, submitting an application, or using Mugon Dojo (“the Platform”) at mugon.club, you agree to these Terms of Service (“Terms”), our Privacy Policy, and the Code of Conduct.

If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, you must not access or use the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform constitutes your ongoing acceptance of these Terms as they may be updated from time to time.

2. Eligibility

To use the Platform, you must:

  • Be at least 16 years of age. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained parental or guardian consent.
  • Provide accurate and truthful information in your application and profile. Misrepresentation of skills, experience, or identity is grounds for immediate removal.
  • Maintain only one account per person. Creating multiple accounts, sockpuppet accounts, or shared accounts is strictly prohibited.
  • Understand that membership is by application only. Submitting an application does not guarantee admission. The admissions process is at the sole discretion of the Mugon Dojo team.

3. Membership & Dan System

3.1 Admission

All new members begin at Dan 1 (Shodan) upon acceptance. Approval is not guaranteed and is based on the quality of your application, demonstrated skills, and alignment with the community’s values. New members enter a probationary period during which they are expected to demonstrate active participation and adherence to the Code of Conduct.

3.2 Dan Tiers & Promotion

Dan advancement is earned through contribution, not purchased. Promotion is determined by the admin team and/or the Council based on your participation, quality of contributions, peer endorsements, and community impact. Promotion decisions are final and not appealable. There is no guaranteed timeline for advancement.

3.3 Paid Tiers

Dan 2 and above may require an annual subscription fee once the payment system is active. Subscription fees are non-refundable except where required by applicable law. Failure to maintain an active subscription when required may result in a pause or reduction of tier-specific privileges until payment is restored.

4. Contribution Requirements

Mugon Dojo is a community built on active participation. Members are expected to contribute from Day 1. Minimum expectations include:

  • Attend at least 1 community event per month (workshops, code reviews, study sessions, or meetups).
  • Contribute to at least 1 project per quarter (personal project showcases, collaborative builds, or open-source contributions through the Dojo).
  • Help other members by answering questions, giving feedback, or mentoring where possible.

Members who are inactive for 60 consecutive days without prior notice will be placed in paused status. Paused members lose access to tier-gated channels and events until they re-engage.

5. Code of Conduct

All members must adhere to the following principles:

  • Respect: Treat all members with dignity regardless of experience level, background, or opinion. Constructive criticism is welcome; personal attacks are not.
  • Professionalism: Communicate and collaborate as you would in a professional environment. This includes official channels, code reviews, and events.
  • Integrity: Be honest about your skills, contributions, and experience. Do not claim credit for work you did not do.
  • Confidentiality: Respect the privacy of fellow members. Do not share private discussions, personal information, or internal content outside the community without consent.
  • No Harassment: Harassment, discrimination, threats, doxxing, or any form of abusive behavior will result in immediate suspension or permanent removal.
  • No Spam: Do not post unsolicited advertisements, self-promotion outside designated channels, or repetitive content that does not contribute to the community.
  • No Circumvention: Do not attempt to bypass platform rules, tier restrictions, moderation actions, or security measures. This includes creating alternate accounts to evade bans.

6. Telegram Groups

Official Mugon Dojo Telegram groups are an extension of the Platform and are subject to these Terms and the Code of Conduct.

  • All messages sent in official Telegram groups are captured and stored by the Platform for community health, moderation, and analytics purposes.
  • Telegram groups are tier-gated. Access to specific groups is determined by your Dan level. Attempting to access groups above your tier is prohibited.
  • Suspended or removed members will be automatically removed from all official Telegram groups.

By participating in official Telegram groups, you consent to the capture and processing of your messages as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Job Board & Hiring

Access to the Mugon Dojo job board is a privilege, not a right, and is subject to the following rules:

  • Job applications submitted through the Platform are anonymized. Your identity is not revealed to hiring companies until you explicitly authorize it.
  • Companies never have direct access to member profiles, contribution history, or personal information.
  • All communication between members and companies is mediated through the Platform. Direct contact outside the Platform’s facilitated channels is only permitted after mutual consent is established through the system.
  • Circumventing the hiring process — including sharing member data with companies outside the Platform, soliciting members for jobs outside official channels, or companies attempting to contact members directly using information obtained through the Platform — will result in permanent ban for all parties involved.

8. Content & Intellectual Property

You retain all intellectual property rights to the content you create and share on the Platform, including code, articles, and project submissions.

By posting content on the Platform, you grant Mugon Dojo a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content within the context of the Platform’s services. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where the content has been shared with or incorporated by others within the Platform.

All Mugon Dojo proprietary content — including but not limited to the Dan system design, platform features, branding, educational materials, and internal tools — is owned by Mugon Dojo and may not be reproduced, distributed, or modified without explicit written permission.

9. Endorsements & Reputation

The endorsement and reputation system is designed to reflect genuine professional assessments of fellow members.

  • Endorsements must be honest and based on real experience working with or observing the endorsed member.
  • Fabricating endorsements, trading endorsements, creating quid-pro-quo endorsement arrangements, or using alternate accounts to endorse yourself will result in immediate suspension and potential permanent removal.
  • The Reputation Ledger is append-only. Endorsements and reputation events cannot be deleted or altered once recorded. This ensures the integrity and trustworthiness of the system.

10. Suspension & Termination

Warning System

Violations are handled through a progressive system:

  1. Level 1 — Verbal Warning: A private notice from a moderator or admin outlining the violation.
  2. Level 2 — Written Warning: A formal warning recorded on your account. Visible to the moderation team.
  3. Level 3 — Temporary Suspension: Loss of access to all Platform features and Telegram groups for a defined period.
  4. Level 4 — Permanent Removal: Complete and irreversible removal from the community.

Severe violations (e.g., harassment, data theft, fraud) may result in immediate escalation to Level 3 or Level 4 without prior warnings.

Suspension Effects

While suspended, a member:

  • Cannot access the Platform, job board, or events.
  • Is removed from all official Telegram groups.
  • Cannot submit applications or participate in hiring.
  • Retains their data but cannot interact with the community in any capacity.

Permanent Removal

Upon permanent removal, your account is anonymized. Personal information is deleted, but anonymized contribution records and reputation ledger entries may be retained to preserve community history integrity.

Appeals

Appeals may be submitted to the Council within 30 days of the suspension or removal decision. The Council’s decision on appeals is final.

11. Limitation of Liability

The Platform is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

  • Mugon Dojo is not responsible for content posted by members, the outcome of job applications, hiring decisions, or the quality of interactions between members and companies.
  • Mugon Dojo is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mugon Dojo’s total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Platform is limited to the amount of fees you have paid in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 USD, whichever is greater.

12. Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable local law of the jurisdiction in which Mugon Dojo operates.

  • Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties.
  • If negotiation fails, the dispute shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of a recognized arbitration body in the applicable jurisdiction.
  • You agree to a class action waiver: you may only bring claims against Mugon Dojo in your individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class or representative proceeding.

13. Changes to Terms

Mugon Dojo reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. When changes are made:

  • We will provide at least 14 days’ notice before the updated Terms take effect.
  • Notification will be sent via email and posted in the official Telegram announcement channel.
  • Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

If you disagree with any changes, you may close your account before the new Terms take effect.
